  • Charles King created and organized this public performance of Elvis entertainers in the Rocky Mountain Region.  Hosted by the Paladium at 63rd and Pecos, it will be a monthly gathering of Elvis Tribute Artists, Elvis Fans and friends in a classy non-bar-like environment.  The venue is intimate and cozy, with a capacity of between 200 and 300 guests.  A full-service bar is available as is a full service kitchen.  Every event will consist of a karaoke period in which Elvis Entertainers can perform to their own background tracks, followed by a one-hour show performed by a Headlining Elvis Tribute Artist. The Headliner for the next month's gathering is chosen by a vote of the attending audience.

1st Monthly Event (January 29th, 2004)

  • Performers: Paul Torrez and Casey Hammill
  • Headliner:  Charles King
  • The inaugural night was fantastic, typical "opening night" glitches aside.  Once the sound system was powered up, and a bartender arrived, the night went better than expected.  Paul Torrez opened the evening with a 6-song jumpsuit set.  As usual, Paul's voice was right on and his moves were pure Vegas Elvis.  After Paul, Casey Hammill gave a stirring 6-song set of movie songs and gospel.  Casey's voice is always a treat to hear, and this night was no different.  Charles King finished the night as the evening's headliner with a split set (first half in the 68' Gospel suit, second half in the fringe jumpsuit.)  Leading into his rendition of "My Way" Charles asked the audience to observe a moment of silence in remembrance of Bob Wall - personal friend and founder of the old "Colorado Graceland" fan club - who passed away last week in a car accident.  Charles' greatest fear going into the night was that the crowd wouldn't be large enough to convince The Paladium owners to continue the events on a monthly basis.  However, at the end of the night, the Paladium agreed to host the monthly event on the LAST THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH.

2nd Monthly Event  (February 26th, 2004)

  • Performers:  Chris Barber, Charles King, Paul Torrez
  • Headliner: Paul Torrez
  • The 2nd event proved that this event gets better every time!  Food and beverages were readily available this time, the seating was pre-set, menus were available, and we had a bartender!  Of course, the performers were once again exciting and talented!  This time around the doors leading directly into the VIP Lounge were used (instead of having to traipse through the massive Paladium main room). Up in the soundbooth, someone had removed the CD players and hadn't replaced the wires properly, so the Paladium's soundman had to be called in which delayed the start for about 15 minutes.  The show drew nearly double the number of audience members of January, and once again we overwhelmed the management with our numbers and enthusiasm (when will they learn?) =)  As this new event gets traction and running on all cylinders it promises to be the Elvis Event of the Rocky Mountain Region!
